All items are handmade by amazing women who have overcome personal trauma utilising the arts as mindful practice.
Our workshops and sewing classes have empowered and enabled our students to take textile donations and repurpose them in our second chance haberdashery saving textile waste from landfill.

The UP Creative Community responded to the global pandemic in March 2020 by making washable face coverings for key workers and foodbanks free of charge.
As such we have trialed and adapted our pattern and added some extras which make for better coverage and comfort.
The fabrics we use are predominantly donated, dead stock or end of line meaning we save it from its destined landfill and offer it new life.
We’ve added a metal nose clip, a pocket for filters and all cherished masks have a “Made with Love” wooden button handstitched.
When you receive your covering- WASH IT! At 60 degrees.

The UP Shop is part of UP Creative Hub CIC. By supporting our not for profit organisation you are ending the cycle of fast fashion and ensuring that garments are worn and enjoyed more than once.
The planet can not sustain the amount of clothing it is being demanded to produce, and we no longer value well made, well fitting garments. The UP Creative Community is dedicated to the circular revolution. As such we offer education settings workshops to discuss how with a little imagination, skill sharing and thought we can reduce, reuse and upcycle!
We wish to encourage this the circular economy and so offer a buy back scheme which allows you to borrow the item and return it for someone else to love.
We ask you cover postage and dry cleaning- and wear it responsibly! Every garment has its own Guest Book which documents its provenance and a message from those who have worn it before.
This item has been worn once to a Graduation Ceremony at University of Birmingham, it’s previous owner states “the dress gave me the confidence to walk down the ceremonial hall and stand on stage in front of hundreds of people”.

UP Shop Boredom Busting Sew your own Bunny kit
£7.00The Boredom Busting Bunny pack allows you to create the cutest little stuffed rabbit, complete with rosey cheeks, cute embroidered nose and an appliquéd heart.
Currently available in green cotton with tiny white heart polka detail, this bunny makes a cute and cuddly reminder of the new starts at spring time.
Your pack contains everything you need to produce the finished Bunny even including the needle and thread for hand sewers and absolute beginners.
The felt pre-cut pieces are embroidered along the lines in the embroidery thread provided to create a coy looking eye, cute nose and rosey cheeks. This felt face is then sewn onto the good side of one of the large green cut out bunny shaped pieces. The heart can also be sewn at this stage. Simply turn the pieces to face one another and stitch around following the lines provided. Leave a small gap. Turn the rabbit inside out and fill with the wadding provided. Secret stitch the hole up.
