Your multifaceted arts space is uniquely positioned within a disused rental unit in the busy Ankerside Shopping Centre, creating a positive place from a negative space.

We seek to prove that these unused spaces, seen across the country, can diversify to include galleries, community hubs and safe spaces making them town centre destinations that people want to visit.

The Local Arts Base (LAB) provides a welcoming space for all community members, we are accessible as we can be found right in the centre of town.

The LAB provides a space for

– Workshops delivered by local artists

– Gallery spaces to showcase local artists

– Studio spaces

– Shared working spaces with WIFI

– Mentoring, coaching and counselling rooms

– Second chance haberdashery

– Staffordshire scrapstore

– Vintage and preloved clothing

The UP Creative Community is a grassroots network of members, volunteers, artists and partner organisations.

We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company and we exist to serve you, our community.
