If you are not sure whether you have the time to commit to a membership right now, or simply only have one project at the moment then a Small Art Bespoke appointment is for you. We accept donations for this service if there is no need for sewing machines. For sewing machine use we offer an hourly rate. We limit appointment times and charge for use of the items you take from the haberdashery.

Individual sewing sessions:

This is available to the public to come to mend or make small projects. We will guide you and offer basic tools like needles, cotton thread, glue, etc. THESE SESSIONS DO NOT INCLUDE FABRIC FROM HABERDASHERY.

  • Sewing machine use: £5 / hour
  • Overlock: £7.50 / hour
  • Bring your own machine: £3.00 / hour

So far we have helped with a number of different projects, from Egyptian King to Hungry Caterpillar for World Book Day costumes, reversible fury leg warmers, sewn pockets into a skirt, created a denim corset from a pair of jeans, taken a denim jacket and added the detail off a dining cloth, used vintage buttons to pimp a cape, made a bow for a mobility scooter with donated ribbon, made valentines roses from otherwise scrap fabric, made snoods from scraps from the cutting room floor and made Morsbags from unused upholstery fabric, to name but a few.

A form available to log in contact info and description of the project in mind. Date available.
